I DID IT! I finished my 10 day liquid cleanse! It was really difficult most of the time, but it gave me the opportunity to try out so many new recipes that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise.
I spent all of last night preparing for my meals today. I didn’t want to immediately jump into eating poorly after such a long streak of good, nutritious food. I didn’t feel the need to ease myself back into solids with smoothies and soups since I was already eating those during the cleanse. Had I done an all juice cleanse, however, I would have taken it easy the first couple of days with mostly liquids.
I decided to put together some overnight oats to break the cleanse! This is a recipe I have been wanting to try out for awhile, and this seemed the perfect time to do it. One of the great things about overnight oats is that there are SO MANY different ways to put the meal together! If you’re on a special diet (dairy free, gluten free, sugar free, etc.), you can adapt the recipe to fit your personal preferences. It’s also great for anyone strapped for time. It took me less than 5 minutes to put everything into the jar, and it was ready and waiting for me in the morning when I woke up.
This particular recipe is chalk full of complex carbohydrates, protein, omega oils, fiber, and antioxidants. It’s a great start to the day, and it’s delicious!

1/3 c. oats (NOT quick or instant)
1/4 c. frozen blueberried
1 Tbs. chia seeds
1 tsp. almond butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. almond milk
Combine ingredients in a mason jar, place in the fridge, and enjoy the next morning!

Good idea! May have to try this one out…especially good for those mornings when you don’t have a lot of time. Thanks!
